Official/court finding: on September 2, 2021, the District of Columbia Court of Appeals suspended Kevin E. Clinesmith, Bar Registration No. 984265, from the practice of law in the District of Columbia for one year, nunc pro tunc to August 25, 2020. The opinion is negotiated discipline based on the § 1001(a)(3) guilty plea.

The hearing committee concluded the offense was a serious crime but not one involving moral turpitude, and that Rules 8.4(b) and 8.4(c) were violated. Those are the court’s and the committee’s words. They are not a second criminal conviction.

Current standing after the suspension is a later reporting question. It is not established by this 2021 opinion alone.
