Official finding: on December 9, 2019, the Department of Justice Office of the Inspector General released report 20-012, a review of the four FISA applications and other aspects of Crossfire Hurricane. The report describes an Office of General Counsel attorney altering a liaison email so that it stated Carter Page was “not a source.”

An IG report is not a criminal information and not a guilty plea. The Washington Examiner and the Washington Times wrote the email alteration from that report. The Epoch Times later wrote the prosecutors’ sentencing ask. Gateway Pundit wrote pre-report leak pieces in November 2019. Those are reporting. The criminal charge came in 2020, from Durham, not from Horowitz’s signature block.

The OIG landing page and the examination PDF posted the same day are the primary files for this episode.
